China Tort Law

Last Sunday, the National People's Congress (NPC) have opened
in Beijing. In this annual session, the congress will pass Labour
Agreement Law and revise Compulsory Education Law. A professor of
Renmin University told China Tort Law is scheduled to enact, as part
of China Civil Code.

However, another important law, China Property Law meets obstacles
after heavily criticized by some socialism supporter.

After completion the enacting work of Property Law and Tort Law, they
will amend the general principles of Civil Law, adjust the structure
of China Civil Law and ultimately pass a new Civil Code.

General Principles of the Civil Law of PRC was passed by NPC in April
10, 1985, as a compromise between communists and reformers. Since
1990s, China congress seek to promulgate or revised more civil laws to
step up China's economical progress. China Contract Law was revised by
NPC in 1999,as well as Patent Law in 2000, Copyright Law and Marriage
Law in 2001, Company Law and Stock Law in 2005.

Alike France, German and Japan, China adopts civil law system and
combine with few socialism principles.
